Dublin City University is Ireland’s most innovative university, ranked  among the world’s best young universities (QS Top 100 Under 50). It has a well-integrated eco-system for innovation and entrepreneurship, and is a member of ECIU (European Consortium of Innovative Universities). As stated in its current Strategic Plan (2017-22) ‘Talent, Discovery and Transformation’, DCU’s mission is to transform lives and societies through education, research, innovation and engagement. The Plan is underpinned by six key themes: Talent; Discovery; Creativity; Society; Technology and Sustainability. As well as an excellent track record in for-profit entrepreneurship, DCU prides itself on a long, successful record of civic engagement, social innovation and social enterprise among both staff and students.

Dublin City University in the project BeyondScale:

    • Concentrates on developing social (not-for-profit) innovation and enterprise (SIE) initiatives within the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals
    • Documents practice examples of collaboration and engagement
    • Collaborates with academic teaching staff across all five faculties in embedding SIE in relevant modules and degree programmes.
