Research and Reports

Several academic papers and publications have been prepared within the BeyondScale project.

The Final Report provides an overview of the most important activities of 2.5 years of BeyondScale.

The Transnational Report on inbound activities and the Transnational Report on outbound activities  outline outcomes, achievements and lessons learned in each WP area.

Recommendations on the further use of the HEInnovate tool and platform in inbound and outbound activities are summarized in the document “BeyondScale: Testbed for improving the use and usefulness of HEInnovate“.

This questionnaire forms a part of the BeyondScale toolbox. The questions below provide users of the HEInnovate tool with preparatory as well as reflective questions to help them in preparing their action plans, their HEInnovate workshops and the related follow-up activities.

The document “Supporting Entrepreneurial Change Processes in Higher Education Lessons from HEInnovate and BeyondScale” summarises the experiences of the BeyondScale project partners in applying the HEInnovate tool and methodology as developed for the project. Further, this brochure provides recommendations and guidelines for enhancing the use and usefulness of the HEInnovate tool and methodology.

The document “Indicators to measure progress and perfomance in entrepreneurial change processes in HEIs” proposes progress indicators and possible applications that intend to support institutional practitioners engaging in entrepreneurial change processes in their higher education institutions (HEIs).

This Practical Guide to entrepreneurial change processes in higher education institutions intend to support institutional practitioners engaging in entrepreneurial change processes in their universities.

These Guidelines intend to support institutional practitioners engaging in entrepreneurial change processes in their higher education institutions (HEIs) when using HEInnovate.

Based on the experiences of the BeyondScale project partners, a number of recommendations on how the use and usability of the HEInnovate tool can be enhanced were drawn up in the document “BeyondScale: Testbed for improving the use and usefulness of HEInnovate.

This Literature Study  provides insights from the systematic literature review and feeds the inspiration fiches and also presents the framework used to extract insights from the literature and the HEInnovate resources.

The aim of the Literature Review is to identify typical entrepreneurial activities and measures in universities. The analysis covers all aspects of implementation, i.e. also the barriers encountered and mechanisms used to promote impact.

The paper on Indicators and Workshops proposes progress indicators and possible applications that the BeyondScale partners can use to monitor their activities or in the second workshop.

HEI practitioners and managers using the Digi Buddy Platform are provided with the opportunity to not only contact like-minded institutions/individuals, but also to access information on the basis of thematic clusters, and challenges through an “Inspiration Fiche”.

The Scoping Report sets out the Beyond Scale project proposal’s objectives and identifies the changes made to the original plan for the research accompanying the project. This will also contribute to a better understanding of the project’s objectives and how the accompanying research can support the Beyond Scale project partners in conducting their activities.

Country notes are HEI specific and do not reflect national positions. They outline the proposed activities, associated outcomes and objectives; the output of the initial deployment of the HEInnovate tool, including potential barriers, challenges and opportunities identified as well as proposals on how the HEInnovate platform will be experimented with as part of the activity area work programme with a view to expanding its application and use beyond its current format
